In 2015 we launched the peer-led Mind Recovery College, structured in the style of a skills academy, which is guided on the key Recovery principles of Hope, Empowerment and Opportunity.

The College offers people with lived experience of mental ill health access to a number of Recovery-based courses that have been co-produced and will be co-delivered by our Recovery Champions. The College aims to empower people to gain valuable skills for everyday life, to promote greater self management and independence from mental health services.

The range of courses on offer is wide, from understanding relationships to cooking, creative writing to managing your finances, and come under three headings: Understanding, Rebuilding You and Tools for Life. Some run for a number of weeks and others are one-off workshops.

Courses are open to Hackney residents, aged 18 and over, with experience of emotional and mental distress.
