In this weeks earlier article we took a look at what a carer is. In this article we are going to take a look at the challenges carers can face.

As a carer much of your time is spent focusing on someone else and it can start to feel unnatural to think about yourself and your needs. That being said it’s important you look after your own wellbeing too to avoid physical and mental health problems.

People who are carers can often be faced with the following challenges:
  • Stress & worry
  • Social isolation
  • Money worries
  • Physical health problems
  • Depression
  • Frustration & anger
  • Low self esteem
These challenges over time can lead to mental health problems so it’s important they are managed.
