In 2012-14, we achieved the following client outcomes:

Wellbeing

• 97% reduced isolation

• 82% reported eating well, had reduced excessive use of alcohol, drugs, smoking and took more exercise

Development of new skills, increased confidence and self-reliance

• 93% improved self-confidence and self-esteem

• 81% better self-awareness and better control of behaviours

• 77% better able to cope independently and to be more self-reliant

• 88% retained their jobs/reduced sickness-absence via combined counselling and employment support

Recovery/ Social Inclusion

• 86% achievement in moving on (volunteering, training, employment)

• 91% clients engaged in more social/leisure activities in the community

• 87% reported improved relationships with family/friends

• 79% helped peers/people in the community

In 2014, a team from University of Bristol with expertise in Social Return on Investment (SROI) impact studies analysed client satisfaction and measures of wellbeing and recovery and found that for every £1 invested in Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest, there is a social return of £6.07 to our beneficiaries and the wider community.

Our psychological therapies team participated in the Royal College of Psychiatrist’s National Audit of Psychological Therapies (NAPT), which evaluates the quality of psychological therapies across England and Wales. NAPT found:

• 81% clinical recovery rate for depression/anxiety, compared with the national median of 46%

• 94% client satisfaction with course of therapy

• 100% client satisfaction with therapist and provider

• 87% successful completion of treatment and requiring no further treatment
